Hubris-Professor Little described hubris as the tragic flaw of the character. It is the characteristic that is unbearable and that brings them to their downfall. It is also the thing that the play is in a sense trying to study. He mentioned it in our discussion of Macbeth and said that in terms of Macbeth his hubris was authoritarianism.
